As words are exchanged, a curtain of unease
descended in the throneroom, dividing.
Time passes as uncertainty gives rise to imagination,
clouding what’s to come, convicting, colliding.
When whispers fall on deaf ears, they fall meekly
as they are unnoticed, dropping stillborn from thought.
Yet listening Silence hears everything,
what it can, what it might, and what it ought.
And when Silence sighs, the voices of those who’ve come
to mourn and complain in grief-filled refrain
pleas lodged in desperate throats, lost in Silence’s domain.
